Our Approach to Materiality(Redirects to an External Site)
The Relationship Between Materiality and the SDGs
In pursuit of safe and secure medical care, we prioritize partnerships, particularly collaboration within local communities and across industry, government, and academia. In addition to Goal 11, Target 3—”Enhance inclusive and sustainable urbanization and strengthen participatory, inclusive, and sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries”—we also focus on Target 5—”Substantially reduce the number of deaths and the number of people affected by disasters, including water-related disasters, with a focus on protecting the poor and people in vulnerable situations, and significantly decrease direct economic losses relative to global GDP.” Our goal is to establish a medical system that delivers value not only in normal times but also during disasters.
